Investor-ready and regulator-aware plans for NBFCs, fintechs, insurance intermediaries, payment companies and advisory firms.
A finance business plan sets out how an NBFC, fintech, insurance intermediary, payment company or advisory firm will win customers, meet capital and licensing rules, manage risk and become profitable. In India, founders use it to support RBI, SEBI or IRDAI applications, raise equity and borrowings, and show investors when the business will earn a return.
Aviaan Accounting is a financial services business plan company whose team of CAs, MBAs and business strategists prepares plans for founders, promoters and investors across India, combining market research, regulatory mapping and financial models built on documented assumptions, with valuation and due diligence support when a transaction needs them.

Financial services is one of India’s most tightly regulated sectors. Regulators look at capital, governance and systems before granting a licence, lenders look at asset quality and liquidity, and investors look at unit economics and credit losses. Getting the licence route or capital plan wrong can delay a launch by months. A clear financial company business plan helps you:
Our financial services plans draw on Aviaan Accounting’s wider Business Plan Services expertise.
Our team combines financial-sector research, regulatory mapping and financial modelling so that your strategy and your numbers support each other. Depending on your purpose, your plan can include:
A business plan for financial services company promoters is scoped with you upfront, so you pay only for the sections your plan and your regulator actually need.
Most financial services models need a licence or registration. RBI regulates NBFCs, payment aggregators and other payment systems, SEBI regulates brokers, investment advisers, portfolio managers and asset managers, and IRDAI regulates insurers and insurance intermediaries. Your plan maps the right licence, minimum net-owned funds or net worth, fit-and-proper requirements and approval timelines. For example, RBI’s scale-based framework requires NBFCs in the investment and credit category to reach ₹10 crore of net-owned funds by March 2027, and payment aggregators need ₹15 crore of net worth at application, rising to ₹25 crore by the end of the third year.
Every model is tested at the level of a single loan, policy or transaction: acquisition cost, revenue, funding or claims cost, credit or fraud losses, servicing cost and the resulting margin. This shows how quickly the business reaches break-even and how sensitive profitability is to pricing, losses and cost of funds.
For lending models, we build disbursement, yield, cost of funds, credit-loss and collection-efficiency assumptions, and test how the business performs if delinquencies rise, including expected credit loss provisioning under Ind AS 109 where it applies. For insurance and payments, we model claims or chargebacks, fraud losses and reconciliation costs.
Core lending, policy or payment systems, KYC, fraud controls, partner APIs and cybersecurity are budgeted as core infrastructure. The plan reflects the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, RBI and SEBI outsourcing and IT expectations, and FEMA rules where foreign investment is involved.
Regulators and investors look closely at who runs the business. Your plan sets out the board and the fit-and-proper criteria for its directors, key managerial personnel, risk and compliance functions, internal audit and reporting lines, and shows how governance will scale as the business grows.
A financial services startup business plan must prove more than a good product: a clear licensing path, a realistic customer-acquisition cost, early partnerships with banks, NBFCs or insurers, and enough capital to survive until the loan book, premium base or transaction volume becomes profitable. We also show whether a partnership model, such as co-lending or acting as a lending service provider, can reach the market faster than a full licence, and how it would comply with RBI’s digital lending expectations. The plan also sets out the first key hires in credit, risk, compliance and technology.
Equity investors and lenders test the same numbers from different angles. We show how much capital you need, how it supports regulatory capital and growth, how debt funding will be layered as the book grows, and which milestones each round funds. For lenders, the plan also shows asset-liability matching, liquidity buffers and covenant headroom.
A financial company business plan for investors in India highlights unit economics per loan, policy or transaction, credit-loss assumptions, capital adequacy, return on equity, the path to profitability, the team’s regulatory track record and how the business compares with listed peers on key ratios.
We also prepare sector-specific plans, each built around its own regulation and economics:
Timelines depend on the complexity of your model and how quickly information is available, and are agreed at the start.
Every financial services plan starts with a different question. Here is how Aviaan Accounting’s team approaches three common ones:
The challenge: a new NBFC needed term loans from banks to grow its MSME loan book. What we built: disbursement and yield forecasts, cost of funds, credit-loss and collection scenarios, capital adequacy projections and a liability plan matched to the loan book. Why it matters: lenders can see how the NBFC stays well-capitalised even in a stress case.
The challenge: founders planning an insurance broking business needed a plan for their IRDAI application and early investors. What we built: product and distribution strategy, premium and commission forecasts, compliance and technology costs, and capital requirements. Why it matters: the plan supports both the application and the fundraising conversation.
The challenge: a payments startup needed to show investors how it would meet RBI net-worth rules while scaling transaction volumes. What we built: transaction and take-rate forecasts, fraud and chargeback assumptions, a net-worth roadmap and a use-of-funds plan. Why it matters: investors see growth and compliance planned together.
Our financial company business plan services bring strategy, regulation and numbers together:
Typically the product and target customers, licence route, capital plan, risk and collections framework, technology and compliance, team and governance, financial projections and funding requirement.
Yes. We structure the plan around the information regulators typically review, although approval always depends on the regulator’s own assessment.
It depends on what you do: lending usually needs an RBI NBFC registration or a partnership model, payments may need RBI authorisation, broking and advisory need SEBI registration, and insurance distribution needs an IRDAI licence. The plan maps the right route for your model.
Yes. Every plan includes an editable financial model with capital, funding and stress-test scenarios.
The fee depends on the licence type, product complexity, research depth and the financial model. We share a fixed quote after the initial consultation.
Yes. We can review your draft, test the assumptions and financial model, and strengthen the sections regulators, lenders or investors are likely to question.
No. A feasibility study tests whether an idea is viable before you commit capital; a business plan sets out how the business will be built and run. Aviaan Accounting offers both.
